Pantone the leading colour specialist, has stated the on trend colour for 2019 is Living Coral. For most normal folk that translates to a peachy blush pink colour, these designers love there dramatic descriptive terms!
“It is a color we see in nature,” says Pantones vice president Laurie Pressman. “Lying at the center of our naturally vivid and chromatic eco-system, it is evocative of how coral reefs provide shelter to a diverse kaleidoscope”
Enough of that deep thinking shenanigans, what you really want to know is where could i use this colour in my home.
Here we have the main wall coloured in the living coral colour. Another great earthy colour to match with it is a green shade, you may not need to be as daring as this but even the simple addition of greenery from a plant or two adds that nice complimentary colour.
With so many homes going for neutral greys, an idea people never think of is to use their blinds as an area to create a pop of colour as seen in the image above.
Here a home owner has cleverly broken up the wall but painting 3/4 of the wall in living coral and changes to a neutral taupe colour at the start of the table to create a bit of symmetry.
A quick and hassle free way of adding some living coral to a room in your home is to buy some lovely matching bed sheets. What really works here is the soft velvet texture to the headboard as the soft texture matches the colours soft tone amazingly well.
We are seeing a real shift to more pastel colours in the kitchen. I wouldn’t recommend to turn all you cupboards this colour, but as seen in the bottom corner the colour works really well with a nice dark tone colour such a a deep navy blue.
Seeing as the colour is inspired from the sea ‘Living Coral’ it is apt to see it in the bathroom. A simple was to use it is to paint small part of the bathroom, like in this image the base of the bath or even the inside of your door.
Ehhh not sure i could justify this use of the colour here!
