We are now in 2019, to think its nearly 2020 when all those futuristic movies used to be set, scary!

We have pulled together some interior trends for the year ahead to help you keep your home on trend.

Striking surfaces are set to be one of 2019’s biggest trends, especially within the kitchen, we are going to see real strong pops of colours such as on panelling on islands like in the image above.

Pastel colours have been popular this last few years especially in the bedroom, but this year it will really become popular in the kitchen, offset against the neutral tiles and cupboards.

A real popular colour this year for bedrooms is a green or sage colour. Greens have always been popular for its calming effect, but like the kitchen it will be a more washed pastel green this year.

A popular colour in designer rug ranges is the colour blush for 2019. The colour has been added to a room through cushion, throws and rugs as a small pop of colour against a neutral grey rooms which has been such trend.

The rise of indoor furniture as outdoor furniture is expected to remain a big trend, the outdoor living area can be made a bit more homely by adding an outdoor rug which is easy to clean and weatherproof.

For 2019, there is greater interest in biophilia–emphasizing the relationship between humankind and nature. People are becoming more eco friendly and a trend now is to buy bamboo related products and furniture.

The spa-inspired bathroom trend has officially returned. These days it’s all about bold, dark, sultry bathroom designs that evoke an indulgent high-end experience contrasting the neutral walls and floors.
